Iran Seizes Two Oil Tankers, Heightens Tensions Ahead of U.S. Talks

The Iranian military’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed that the vessels were intercepted near Farsi Island. They allege the ships were transporting about 1 million liters of illegally obtained fuel. The crews have been handed over to Iranian judicial authorities, according to state media reports.
This action aligns with Iran’s ongoing claims that these vessels are linked to a broader network of fuel smuggling operations that have been active in the region for months.
