Nayanthara Fires Back at Dhanush: Reacts to Rs 10 Crore Legal Notice Over Netflix Doc with a Fiery Open Letter!

In a candid and revealing letter, well-known actress Nayanthara has shared her frustrations with fellow actor and producer Dhanush K Raja. The letter highlights the difficulties she encountered while trying to secure permissions for her Netflix documentary, which tells the story of her life and career in the film industry.

Nayanthara alleges that Dhanush purposely denied her a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to include clips and elements from their popular film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in her documentary. Despite her persistent efforts over two years to obtain approval for songs, visuals, and photographs, Dhanush reportedly turned down her requests. In her letter, she expressed her disappointment, stating that the songs from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan are very personal to her and essential for her documentary’s narrative. She lamented, "Your refusal to allow us to use the songs, or even the lyrics, broke my heart."

The situation escalated when Dhanush sent a legal notice after the release of the documentary’s trailer, questioning the use of a few seconds of behind-the-scenes footage. He demanded damages of Rs 10 crores, a move that caught Nayanthara and her team off guard. She described this action as an "all-time low" and questioned his approach, asking, "Does a Producer become an Emperor controlling the lives, freedom, and liberty of all the persons on set?"

Nayanthara also revisited past issues related to the success of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, which was released nearly ten years ago. She claimed that Dhanush’s ego was hurt by the film’s popularity, and this was apparent during award shows. She wrote, "Your ego was supremely hurt after the film became a blockbuster… The words you said before the release have left some unhealable scars." She further accused Dhanush of holding a grudge against her and her partner, which affected their collaborative efforts.

In the latter part of her letter, Nayanthara encouraged Dhanush to move past old grievances and foster positivity. She emphasized the importance of celebrating each other’s achievements, saying, "The world is a big place, it’s meant for everyone. It’s okay for people you know to come up in life… I hope and pray that someday you are also fully capable of spreading love and not just saying it."

As of now, Dhanush has yet to respond to Nayanthara’s letter.
