Exciting Release Ahead: ‘Rahu Ketu’ Set to Hit Theatres

The much-anticipated comedy film Rahu Ketu, featuring Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Shalini Pandey, Piyush Mishra, Chunky Panday, Amit Sial, Manu Rishi Chadha, and Sumit Gulati, is ready for its theatrical debut on Friday, January 16. The production team has successfully completed the censoring process this past week.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) granted the film a U/A 16+ rating but requested some adjustments before approval. Notably, they mandated that certain dialogue be altered, as well as the replacement of drug-related visuals with more appropriate images. Additionally, any depiction of a middle finger was required to be changed to a pinky finger, and all mentions of alcohol brands have been removed.

In a final request, the film’s creators were asked to provide a verification letter for a Sanskrit Shloka featured in the movie. Another significant edit involved replacing a notable scream from the film Kantara.

Following these amendments, the filmmakers received their censor certificate on January 12. The film has a total runtime of 139 minutes and 40 seconds, or 2 hours and 19 minutes.

Produced by Zee Studios and B-Live Productions Pvt Ltd, Rahu Ketu brings back Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma, who appear together again after their success in the Fukrey series. This film also marks the directorial debut of Vipul Vig, known for his previous work as a writer on the Fukrey films.

In recent promotions for Rahu Ketu, Pulkit Samrat shared insights at the Bollywood Hungama OTT India Fest and the India Entertainment Awards 2025. He noted, “Since the release of the first Fukrey, Varun and I have had countless offers to work together. It’s tough to turn down so many opportunities. But it’s important for us to choose projects that excite us.” He emphasized that their collaboration needed to be special to stand out from their previous work, which is exactly what they found in Rahu Ketu.

With a mix of humor and memorable characters, the film promises an engaging experience for audiences.
