Encompass Health Corp., a leader in inpatient rehabilitation, and Vanderbilt Health, a major academic health system in the Southeast, are teaming up to create a new 40-bed rehabilitation hospital in Barton Village, Lebanon, Tennessee. This facility will focus on helping patients recover from serious illnesses and injuries, like strokes, brain injuries, and orthopedic issues.
Mat Gooch, president of Encompass Health’s Northeast region, expressed excitement about this partnership. He stated, “We are eager to expand our collaboration with Vanderbilt to provide excellent rehabilitation services for those in Wilson, Smith, Trousdale, and Macon counties. This new hospital will enhance existing healthcare options in the area.”
The hospital will cater to patients needing intensive recovery support, offering around-the-clock nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. It aims to boost patients’ independence and overall quality of life. The care will be delivered by a dedicated team of skilled healthcare professionals.
Patients will enjoy comfortable, private rooms in a modern facility that includes a therapy gym with the latest rehabilitation technology, an in-house dialysis center, and a dining area. The hospital’s design will focus on creating a supportive environment for recovery.
Set to open in 2028, this facility will be part of Encompass Health’s extensive network of rehabilitation hospitals and marks the second joint venture with Vanderbilt Health, alongside the existing Vanderbilt Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital in Nashville.
