Actress Sanjeeda Shaikh is set to join Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna in the eagerly anticipated Netflix action thriller, Ikka. The film, directed by Siddharth P. Malhotra, who is known for successful movies like We Are Family, Hichki, and Maharaj, adds another exciting project to Sanjeeda’s career, making it one of the most awaited releases of the year on streaming platforms.
Ikka features both Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna in prominent roles, reuniting the duo nearly 28 years after their legendary collaboration in the film Border (1997). Initially, there were rumors that this film would be a remake of the American thriller Death Sentence, but it has since been confirmed that a new and original storyline has been crafted instead. As a large-scale project, Netflix is eager to utilize the star power of the cast while delivering a fresh narrative.
Sanjeeda joins the cast during a busy time for her co-stars. Sunny Deol was recently seen in the film Jaat and is gearing up for projects like Border 2 and Lahore 1947. He is also spending quality time with his father, Dharmendra, following a recent health issue.
Meanwhile, Akshaye Khanna, who last appeared in Chhaava as Aurangzeb, is looking forward to his upcoming film Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, which is set to release on December 5, 2025. In addition, he has a role in Mahakali, part of the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe.
On her front, Sanjeeda has been receiving acclaim for her recent performance in Heeramandi, which was released on Netflix in 2024 and earned positive reviews.
