The Delhi High Court has taken a significant step regarding the case of Major (Retd.) Vikrant Kumar Jaitly, the brother of actress Celina Jaitly, who has been held in the United Arab Emirates since September 2024. On November 3, 2025, the court directed the Ministry of External Affairs and other related authorities to ensure Vikrant receives proper legal help and that his family is kept informed about his situation.

Justice Sachin Datta led the hearing, which Celina attended in person. The court ordered the Union of India to appoint a nodal officer to facilitate communication between the Jaitly family and UAE officials. This officer’s role will be to provide updates about Vikrant’s well-being, legal status, and any changes in the case.

Celina expressed her concerns in court about the lack of consular assistance since her brother’s detainment began on September 6, 2024. Vikrant has lived in the UAE since 2016, working with a trading firm, but details surrounding his detention remain unclear. Celina shared the emotional toll the limited communication has had on her and her family.

The court requested a thorough report on Major Jaitly’s condition and legal matters to be presented by the next hearing on December 4, 2025. The judges highlighted the need for regular contact between Vikrant and his family to ensure his rights are protected.

Earlier this year, Celina posted a touching message on social media for Bhai Dooj, showcasing the family bond during these tough times.
