Targeted Killing of Indian-Origin Businessman Raises Concerns in Canada
In a shocking incident, 68-year-old Darshan Singh Sahasi, a well-known textile businessman of Indian origin, was murdered outside his home in Abbotsford, Canada. The crime, which was caught on CCTV, has drawn significant attention from law enforcement.
Goldy Dhillon, a member of the infamous Lawrence Bishnoi gang, took to social media to claim responsibility for the attack. Dhillon stated that Sahasi was targeted for allegedly refusing to comply with extortion demands.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is currently looking into the case. Sahasi, who immigrated from Punjab in 1991, was the president of Canam International, a prominent textile recycling firm.
