Shreyas Iyer has suffered an injury while making a catch during a match against Alex Carey. After securing the catch, he was seen holding his left side and was taken off the field for medical attention.
Currently, the 30-year-old is receiving treatment at a hospital in Sydney. According to a statement from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), scans have shown that he has a laceration to his spleen. Thankfully, he is now medically stable and is recovering well.
The BCCI Medical Team is working closely with specialists both in Sydney and India to keep a close eye on his condition. Additionally, the Indian Team Doctor will stay in Sydney to monitor Iyer’s progress on a daily basis.
