Isha Talwar Talks About a Challenging Audition Experience
Bollywood casting director Shanoo Sharma is well-known for finding new talent in major films. In a recent chat with a media outlet about her latest project, Saiyaara, some actors took the opportunity to share their experiences auditioning for her.
One such actress, Isha Talwar, shared a memorable story about a difficult audition early in her career. She recalled being asked to perform a crying scene in a busy restaurant called Mia Cucina in Versova, Mumbai. “I was told to have no inhibitions as an actor, even though there were people dining right next to me,” she explained. This unusual request became a source of confusion and frustration for her, as it left her feeling unconfident. “I remember thinking I just couldn’t do it. I didn’t cry in that restaurant for a role, and ultimately, I didn’t get it,” she added.
Now, after a decade, Talwar hopes new actors can feel less pressured if they face similar situations.
Nidhi Subbaiah Shares Her Experience
Another actress, Nidhi Subbaiah, also shared her thoughts on Shanoo’s casting process. She mentioned that while Shanoo is kind, her audition environment wasn’t the best. During her first audition, some of Shanoo’s assistants made fun of her, comparing her photos to a Miss India contestant who was present. Nidhi expressed her discomfort with that experience, highlighting the need for a supportive atmosphere in auditions.
As of now, Shanoo Sharma has yet to respond to these comments from the actors.
