Trump Firmly Disputes Claims on Iran Strike’s Effectiveness

President Donald Trump has strongly denied recent reports that U.S. military strikes on Iran did not successfully dismantle the country’s nuclear program. He labeled these reports as "FAKE NEWS" and asserted that the targeted sites were "completely destroyed."

In a bold post on Truth Social, Trump stated, “Fake news CNN and the failing New York Times have joined forces to undermine one of the most effective military strikes in history. The nuclear sites in Iran are totally obliterated! Both outlets are facing backlash from the public!”

A CNN report, which cited classified information from the Pentagon’s Defense Intelligence Agency, suggested that the airstrikes merely postponed Iran’s nuclear ambitions. It noted that while some facilities were sealed, they were not fully demolished, and centrifuges and enriched uranium were left intact.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt acknowledged the report but called it "completely incorrect" and claimed it was a deliberate attempt to defame President Trump. She emphasized, “When you unleash fourteen 30,000-pound bombs accurately on their targets, it results in total destruction.”

Special Envoy Steve Witkoff also criticized the intelligence findings, calling the leak "treasonous" and demanding accountability. He expressed confidence that the site had been thoroughly damaged.

What Happened During Operation Midnight Hammer?

On June 22, the U.S. launched a military operation known as Operation Midnight Hammer, aimed at Iran’s key nuclear facilities, including Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. This operation involved seven B-2 stealth bombers, each staffed by a two-person crew. During the strike on the highly fortified Fordow site, 14 Massive Ordnance Penetrators, commonly referred to as "bunker busters," were used, marking a historic deployment of the 15-ton GBU-57 bomb.

Trump celebrated the operation on his social media by saying, “Monumental damage was inflicted on all nuclear sites in Iran, as revealed by satellite imagery. The term ‘obliteration’ is fitting! The structures are deeply embedded into the rock and shielded from fire. The most significant damage occurred underground. Bullseye!!!”
