Hera Pheri 3 Drama: Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films Takes Legal Action Against Paresh Rawal for ₹11 Lakh Payment Dispute

In a noteworthy turn of events regarding the highly anticipated comedy sequel Hera Pheri 3, Akshay Kumar’s production company, Cape of Good Films, has issued a legal notice to veteran actor Paresh Rawal. They are seeking damages amounting to Rs 25 crore, claiming he backed out of the film after already receiving Rs 11 lakh as a partial payment.

The situation arose when Rawal reportedly withdrew from the project despite confirming his participation both publicly and through a written agreement. Sources indicate that he demonstrated his commitment by posting about his involvement on social media on January 30, 2025. Furthermore, he signed a term sheet on March 27, which acknowledged the token payment.

Cape of Good Films asserts that they relied on Rawal’s commitment and moved forward with the film’s initial shoots and teaser production. The teaser filming commenced on April 3, and over three minutes of footage featuring Rawal have already been shot. Insiders revealed that he had participated in several creative meetings alongside Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty, without expressing any objections regarding the script or the project’s direction. Therefore, the production team was taken aback by Rawal’s sudden exit, which he cited was due to "creative differences."

The notice also claims that Rawal’s departure caused significant disruptions to the film’s schedule, leading to considerable financial losses. The production company described his exit as "abrupt" and "unjustified," emphasizing that such a move has put the future of the project at risk. They have requested Rawal to respond within seven days, warning that failure to do so may lead to civil and criminal action.

This legal action comes after reports emerged earlier in the month, hinting at tensions between Rawal and the production. While Rawal has confirmed his exit from the film, both Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan denied having received any prior warnings from him and have expressed their backing of the legal action taken by Cape of Good Films. Hera Pheri 3 is the third part of the beloved comedy franchise, and fans are eagerly waiting for further updates.
