In a thrilling IPL 2025 match on April 28, Rohit Sharma was left impressed by young talent Vaibhav Suryavanshi. The left-handed batsman scored a remarkable century for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Suryavanshi made an explosive 101 runs off just 38 balls, hitting seven fours and 11 sixes as the Royals successfully chased a challenging target of 210 runs with 25 balls remaining. Following the game, Rohit shared his admiration on Instagram, simply stating, “Class,” alongside a photo of Suryavanshi.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s Record-Breaking Performance
Suryavanshi’s impressive innings came in a partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal, who contributed 70 runs from 40 balls. Together, they forged a strong opening partnership of 166 runs in just 11.5 overs. Not only did Suryavanshi reach his fifty in just 17 balls, but he also secured his century in a speedy 35 balls, marking the second-fastest hundred in IPL history. The only faster century was by Chris Gayle, who achieved it in just 30 balls back in 2013.
In this IPL season, Suryavanshi has scored 151 runs over three matches, averaging 50.33 with an impressive strike rate of 215.71. His performance was vital in keeping the Royals’ hopes alive as they head into the final four matches of the league stage.
Rohit Sharma’s Form with Mumbai Indians
Meanwhile, Rohit has been in excellent form for the Mumbai Indians (MI), leading the team to six consecutive wins. In nine matches, he has accumulated 240 runs with an average of 30 and a strike rate of 156.86, including a top score of 76 not out against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on April 20 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
