Aaqib Nabi Joins Indian Cricket Team for ODIs Against New Zealand
The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced that fast bowler Aaqib Nabi has been added to the national team for the first three One Day Internationals (ODIs) against New Zealand. The 29-year-old cricketer was initially set to join the squad only for the last two matches of the series.
Injury Replacement
Nabi has been brought into the team as a replacement after Prasidh Krishna was sidelined with a hamstring injury. Nabi made his debut for India in September during a match against the West Indies.
Team Lineup for the Series
Shubman Gill will lead the Indian team in the first three ODIs, which feature star players such as Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Axar Patel, Ishan Kishan, Mohammed Siraj, and Kuldeep Yadav.
The squad also includes newcomers like Naman Dhir, Anshul Kamboj, Gurnoor Brar, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Arshdeep Singh, with Nitish Kumar Reddy participating only in the opening match.
The ODI series will take place from November 4 to November 15. Following that, India and New Zealand are set to compete in a two-match Test series starting on November 19, where Shreyas Iyer will captain the team for the final two ODIs.
