According to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the world is set to see a significant increase in its elderly population. Between 2020 and 2050, the number of individuals aged 60 and older is expected to double, reaching around 2.1 billion people globally. India is anticipated to follow this trend closely, with projections indicating that by 2050, one out of every five Indians will be aged 60 or more, making up nearly 21% of the population.
