India Secures Finalist Spot in Women’s Singles at Hylo Open
In a thrilling day at the Hylo Open, India is guaranteed to have a finalist in the women’s singles after PV Sindhu and Anmol Kharb both advanced to the semifinals with impressive performances on Friday. Lakshya Sen also kept the excitement alive in the men’s singles, fighting back strongly to secure his place in the last four of the Super 500 tournament.
PV Sindhu, who recently finished as runner-up at the French Open, continued her winning streak by defeating Germany’s Amalie Schulz convincingly with a score of 21-12, 21-10 in just 28 minutes. The two-time Olympic medallist showed her complete control over the match, winning 42 out of 64 points played. She started strong, easily taking the first game, and maintained her dominance in the second to secure a straightforward victory.
Sindhu is now set to face her fellow Indian player, Anmol Kharb, who also had a significant win by overcoming sixth seed Unnati Hooda in a hard-fought quarterfinal match. Anmol won the match with scores of 21-17, 18-21, 21-16, and the contest lasted an hour and eight minutes. Despite losing the second game, she kept her composure and managed to clinch the decisive third game.
With both Sindhu and Anmol reaching the semifinals, India is guaranteed a spot in the women’s singles final, putting both players just one win away from a chance at the title.
Lakshya Sen Defies Odds to Reach Semifinals

Lakshya struggled initially to find his rhythm as Koljonen took the first game, but he elevated his performance in the subsequent games, turning the match in his favor and securing his spot in the semifinals.
Next, Lakshya will go up against France’s Toma Junior Popov, as India aims for a strong finish in Germany.
