Lebanon County Sees Possible Measles Exposure
Officials in Pennsylvania are alerting the public about a potential measles exposure in Lebanon County. A person who tested positive for the virus may have come into contact with others at a Target store located on Quentin Road.
The state Department of Health is advising anyone who visited the store on October 23 between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. to review their vaccination status and watch for any symptoms of measles.
This year, nearly 1,400 cases of measles have been reported across Pennsylvania, including at least five confirmed deaths, two of which involved infants. Lancaster County has recorded the highest number of cases in the state, with 487, followed by 198 cases in Mifflin County and 93 in Chester County.
This outbreak is considered the worst in decades in the United States. Health officials continue to stress the importance of the MMR vaccine to help protect against this serious disease.
