Gallus Group and Heidelberg Launch New Flexographic Label Press in India

Gallus Group and Heidelberg have launched the Gallus Flexomaster, a state-of-the-art flexographic label press tailored for the Indian market, showcased at the LOUPE India 2026 event.

This innovative press has been designed and assembled in India, offering a printing width of 440 mm and achieving speeds of up to 200 meters per minute. The Gallus Flexomaster aims to provide an accessible entry point into the production ecosystem of Gallus and Heidelberg, catering to both new and established label converters looking to broaden their operational capabilities.

The Flexomaster supports various printing techniques, including flexographic and screen printing. It comes with options for embellishment and conversion, such as cold foil, lamination, and a web-turn mechanism. The press can be equipped with up to 12 printing and processing stations, making it versatile enough for pressure-sensitive labels, shrink sleeves, glue-applied labels, in-mold labels, and certain flexible packaging applications like sachets and pouches.

The new platform focuses on key market sectors, including logistics, household and technical products, pharmaceuticals, and the health, beauty, and cosmetics industries.

Dr. David Schmedding, chief technology and sales officer at Heidelberg, mentioned, “India has been a successful market for Gallus solutions for over three decades, with more than 150 installations throughout the country. This milestone reinforces our commitment to significantly contributing to the growth and transformation of the labels and packaging market in India.”

The Flexomaster was developed specifically to meet the production needs and investment strategies of Indian converters, highlighting its reliability, efficient operation, and consistent print quality.

“Converters need technology that aligns with their business realities, from investment and operating costs to the everyday applications they produce,” stated Samir Patkar, president of HEIDELBERG India.

The launch of the Flexomaster also emphasizes Gallus and Heidelberg’s plans to expand their sales, service, and partner networks in the region. They offer a comprehensive range of solutions that includes conventional, hybrid, and digital printing, along with essential software, consumables, training, and technical support.

Additionally, LOUPE India featured the Gallus Screeny Printing Unit, making its Indian debut. This unit can be integrated into existing narrow-web presses, allowing converters to incorporate screen-printing capabilities without needing to upgrade their entire equipment.

Uwe Börner, chief sales officer of Gallus Group, highlighted that the Flexomaster reflects their commitment to customizing printing technology to meet specific market needs rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

After its launch in India and planned installations throughout 2027, Gallus also aims to introduce the Flexomaster gradually in selected international markets with similar production requirements.
