Cargo Ship Attack in the Strait of Hormuz: One Indian Seafarer Killed
The Strait of Hormuz has witnessed another troubling incident as a cargo ship named MV Cape Dao was struck by projectiles, according to a report from the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO). Tragically, one of the 20 Indian seafarers aboard has died in this attack. India’s External Affairs Ministry has confirmed that the country’s embassy in Oman is working closely with local authorities to manage the situation.
The report detailed that the ship was ablaze and adrift after the assault, prompting an immediate evacuation of the remaining crew members. “The Company Security Officer of the vessel reported being hit by an unknown projectile, leading to a fire and the vessel drifting at sea,” UKMTO stated, noting there were two casualties reported.
