Ajay Devgn is preparing for the release of his highly anticipated film, Drishyam The Conclusion, which will hit theaters on October 2. This marks the actor’s second film of the year, following the success of Dhamaal 4. Looking ahead, Devgn was set to star in a film tentatively named Ranger, alongside Sanjay Dutt and Tamannaah Bhatia, originally scheduled for release on December 4. However, recent reports indicate that this film has been delayed until 2027.

Sources confirm that Ranger is now expected to premiere after Eid, which falls in March 2027. This timing is seen as a strategic move, as the film is a jungle adventure and would be ideally suited for release during the school holidays in the summer.

With this change, December 4 will now feature the release of a comic caper starring Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, and Raashii Khanna, directed by Anees Bazmee. This release may face competition from Shraddha Kapoor’s Eetha, and there’s also a chance that Prabhas’s action drama Fauzi could debut around the same time, but it’s also likely to be pushed to 2027.

As it stands, Ajay Devgn will have only two films released in 2026. According to previous reports, Ranger portrays Ajay as a dedicated forest officer focused on protecting tigers. His challenging mission is complicated by a corrupt team and a ruthless gang of poachers, with Dutt playing the main antagonist.

Recently, the climactic scenes for Ranger were filmed in Mumbai, and the team plans to shoot a special dance number featuring both Tamannaah and Ajay after the climax.

Ranger is produced by Luv Ranjan and directed by Jagan Shakti. Luv expressed excitement over the film, noting the long history between Ajay and Sanjay, who have never collaborated on an action film despite working together in various genres for over 25 years.
