Despite a decent start where they scored 27 runs in just 4.2 overs, aided by some missed chances from the Indian fielders, Pakistan quickly fell apart. After losing a few key wickets, the team went from 29 runs for three wickets at the end of the powerplay to just 35 for six by the halfway mark.
Charani, the current top bowler in T20 internationals, struck first by dismissing Muneeba Ali, which set off a chain reaction of more wickets falling. Deepti Sharma dealt another blow by taking out the Pakistan captain, Fatima Sana, who was out for a duck after just seven balls. Prema Rawat also shone in her performance, taking three wickets for just nine runs.
This match marks a significant moment for both teams, showcasing India’s bowling prowess while leaving Pakistan with much to reflect on moving forward.
