In an interesting twist, “Side Heroes” will be filmed entirely in Bihar, making it a unique addition to Bollywood. The storyline is closely connected to the state’s culture, which is why the filmmakers chose to shoot on location instead of replicating Bihar in another place. The production team is currently looking for a small town in Bihar that will serve as the main filming site. They plan to start shooting on January 14, 2027.
Interestingly, Imtiaz Ali has roots in the region; he was born in Jamshedpur, which was once part of Bihar, and he spent part of his childhood in Patna, the capital.
In a previous discussion, Rahul Kumar, the general manager of the Bihar State Film Development & Finance Corporation, shared exciting news about film production in the state. He mentioned that they have streamlined the permission process for film shoots, making it easier for filmmakers to get the necessary clearances and subsidies. Bihar is now offering the highest subsidies in the country, encouraging more projects to be shot in the state.
Bihar has made significant strides in welcoming film crews. Gone are the days when filmmakers were forced to travel to places like Wai in Maharashtra or other states for shooting Bihar-based stories. Under the Bihar Film Promotion Policy, the state government has created incentives specifically aimed at supporting productions within its borders.

It features a talented cast, including Varun Sharma, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana, and will also introduce two new actresses to the film industry. The screenplay is crafted by Siddarth Sen, who directed “Good Luck Jerry,” along with Pankaj Matta, while Ssanjay Tripaathy takes the helm as director.
