Reliance Industries Limited, known for its media and entertainment branch Jio Studios, is moving forward with a production partnership with Aanand L Rai’s Colour Yellow Media Entertainment Private Limited for the upcoming Hindi film Chauhaan, headlined by Ajay Devgn. This announcement was made public through a notice in the August 22, 2026 issue of Complete Cinema magazine.
Chauhaan is being crafted with Neeraj Yadav as both the writer and director. Aanand L Rai will lend his expertise as the creative director. The notice provides insights into the rights arrangement between Jio Studios and Colour Yellow.
According to the proposed terms, Jio Studios will gain 50% of the intellectual property rights, along with 50% of the derivative rights related to Chauhaan, including its underlying works, in all languages globally and indefinitely.
In a notable move, Jio Studios will also possess 100% of the film’s exploitation rights, covering all formats and platforms, both current and future. Furthermore, they will hold exclusive rights to the music associated with Chauhaan worldwide, permanently.
The notice highlights that Jio Studios will have the right to make the first offer to co-produce any audio-visual derivative works based on the film with Colour Yellow.
Reliance Industries has opened the floor for any individuals or entities that feel they have a claim, objection, or interest in the proposed arrangement or its rights to come forward with evidence within seven days of the notice’s publication.
While the production agreement is still noted as being finalized, this public notice offers significant details regarding the ownership structure planned for the Ajay Devgn-led film.
