The recent success of “Awarapan 2” has prompted producer Vishesh Bhatt to reconsider another beloved franchise linked to Emraan Hashmi. Bhatt has announced that they are exploring the possibility of “Jannat 3,” with the scripting phase already in progress.
The “Jannat” series holds a special place in Emraan Hashmi’s career, as he starred as Arjun Dixit in both the original “Jannat” and its sequel, “Jannat 2.” After more than ten years since the last film, the creators are keen to bring this franchise back to life with a third installment.
In a recent chat with Zoom, Vishesh Bhatt confirmed that “Jannat 3” is indeed on the table, stating, “After ‘Awarapan,’ I am definitely looking into ‘Jannat 3.’” When asked about the script, he revealed that they are currently working on it.
This news follows the impressive box office performance of “Awarapan 2,” which debuted on August 14 and reportedly grossed around Rs 81 crores in India over its first three days, with a total worldwide take exceeding Rs 110 crores. This film has become Emraan Hashmi’s highest-grossing solo project in India, significantly boosting his career and reigniting interest in revisiting some of his classic films.
The original “Jannat,” directed by Kunal Deshmukh and produced by Mahesh Bhatt, featured Emraan Hashmi alongside Sonal Chauhan. It told the story of Arjun Dixit’s journey into match-fixing while pursuing fame and wealth. The sequel, “Jannat 2,” released in 2012 and featured Emraan Hashmi, Randeep Hooda, and Esha Gupta, focusing on the illegal arms trade.
As scripting for “Jannat 3” continues, fans are eagerly anticipating more details about this upcoming project and the potential return of Emraan Hashmi as Arjun Dixit.
