Kangana Ranaut Stands By ‘Lomdi’ Remark, Claims Naseeruddin Shah’s Focus Is Always on Pakistan

Kangana Ranaut has recently defended her controversial comment referring to veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah as a “lomdi.” She elaborated on her statement during a discussion about protests and the film industry’s selective stance on political and social matters. Previously, Kangana had criticized Shah while supporting the government’s position during the NEET protests.

In her remarks, Kangana pointed out that Shah often focuses on Pakistan in his films, interviews, and statements. She questioned when the “love story” with Pakistan would end, given the many years since the Partition. She stated, “They are always lost in love for Pakistan. When will this love story come to an end?”

Kangana also shared her own experiences with protests, recalling a time when a large group gathered outside her home, requiring a significant police presence to manage the situation. She remarked, “When the protests took place at Jantar Mantar, they were all shedding crocodile tears.”

She criticized Bollywood for its selective support during protests involving young people, specifically referring to ongoing issues in Jharkhand. Kangana questioned why only those opposing the government seemed to receive attention. She said, “This hypocrisy in the film industry won’t work. The tears shed for Jantar Mantar should also be for the children in Jharkhand.”

Addressing her earlier comments about Naseeruddin Shah, Kangana insisted she takes pride in supporting her country, contrasting herself with Shah, who she claimed supports a neighboring country. She stated, “The truth is, everyone is someone’s dog; but I take pride in guarding and fighting for the household whose bread I eat.”

Kangana concluded by reiterating her stance on the term “lomdi,” suggesting that it could be viewed as a compliment in today’s context. She remarked, “In today’s time, it’s a compliment because loyalty and cuteness are so rare. I’d rather be a dog than a lomdi like Naseeruddin.”

Her comments have sparked discussions about differing perspectives in the Indian film industry as she continues to share her opinions on various political and social issues.
