Ajay Devgn is officially stepping in as the new host of the popular show Crime Patrol, marking his first-ever television hosting role. This change comes as Anup Soni, who has been with the series for over a decade, bids farewell to his hosting duties.

In a statement to Variety India, Soni expressed gratitude for his long association with the show and appreciation for the support he has received from viewers throughout the years. “I don’t have much to say on this. I have had a long and very special relationship with Crime Patrol, and I truly appreciate all the love from the audience,” he shared.

Soni was the face of Crime Patrol from 2010 to 2021, helping the series become one of the most recognized crime shows on Indian television. The show began in 2003 and has aired over 2,000 episodes, becoming one of the longest-running crime-themed programs in the country.

Devgn’s entry signifies a new chapter for the series, which is set to debut its latest season titled Crime Patrol 2026: Crime Ka Current Season. The actor has already filmed 15 episodes, with the season premiering on August 31.

Reflecting on the transition, Soni spoke fondly of Devgn, recalling their past collaborations in films like Gangaajal and Apaharan. “I am a big fan of Ajay Devgn. I know he will bring his own unique style to the show. I wish the team all the best for the new season,” Soni said.

While Devgn begins this exciting journey, Soni is also looking forward to his upcoming projects, including a web series and a film set to release next month. “I’m really hoping that the audience will embrace these new roles just as they did with Crime Patrol,” he added.
