New Text Messages Reveal Fauci’s Private Concerns on COVID Vaccine and Pregnancy

Recently released text messages from Dr. Anthony Fauci, former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, have highlighted discrepancies between private discussions and public statements regarding the COVID-19 mRNA vaccines and their effects on pregnant women.

In conversations with former CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky and Dr. Vivek Murthy on January 25, 2021, Fauci raised concerns about potential links between vaccine reactions—such as fever—after the second dose and the risk of miscarriage during the first trimester. Despite these private worries, Fauci later assured the public that thousands of vaccinated pregnant women showed “no red flags.”

On February 3, 2021, Fauci claimed that over 10,000 pregnant women had received COVID-19 vaccines without any concerning safety issues. He stated, “The FDA has found, thus far… no red flags about that, about pregnant women,” during an interview with the Journal of the American Medical Association.

Just a week later, Fauci reiterated his confidence at a White House briefing, mentioning that around 20,000 pregnant women had been vaccinated without any alarming signals being detected.

Months later, in August 2021, Fauci maintained that the data supported the safety of vaccines for pregnant women, noting that there were no indications of adverse effects when compared to unvaccinated pregnant women.

The release of these messages has raised questions about transparency in health communication, with Senator Ron Johnson emphasizing the importance of informed consent in health discussions. Fauci, Walensky, and Murthy have not yet commented on the newly released messages.

In summary, this situation sheds light on the complex balance between managing public health messages and addressing private concerns, especially surrounding vaccine safety for pregnant women.
