The eagerly awaited trailer for Ramayana was finally released last week, sparking excitement across social media. While it hinted that the film would hit theaters during Diwali, the exact release date remained unclear. Fans began speculating whether it would premiere on Sunday, November 8—Diwali day—or Friday, November 6. Some even suggested a potential early release on October 30.
Recent reports indicate that Ramayana will indeed release on Friday, November 6, as a source revealed plans for a simultaneous global launch. Although the days leading up to Diwali typically see lower box office numbers, industry insiders believe this film will break that trend. The source mentioned, “The excitement around Ramayana is immense, and it’s expected to take off with great success starting November 9.”
Dharma Productions will handle the film’s distribution in India, while Sony Pictures has secured the rights for international markets. It was also shared that T-Series has acquired the music rights for both parts of Ramayana for ₹75 crores.
The film features a stellar cast, including Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, known for Dangal, the film is produced by Namit Malhotra. Music will be provided by renowned composers A R Rahman and Hans Zimmer. This epic tale will unfold in two parts, with the first part set to release during Diwali 2026 and the sequel expected in 2027.
