Cotton Yarn Prices Hold Steady Amid Cautious Buying
Cotton yarn prices have remained stable recently, as buyers approach the market with caution. Concerns over the ongoing Gulf crisis have influenced purchasing behaviors. A trader from Ludhiana highlighted that even without direct impacts, buyers tend to reduce their orders when tensions in the Gulf region ease. Falling crude oil prices, driven by less conflict, might result in lower polyester costs, which is a synthetic alternative to cotton.
As the festival season approaches, the consumer industry is ramping up production, leading to consistent but limited purchases of cotton yarn.
In Ludhiana, the prices for various types of cotton yarn are as follows: combed yarn of different counts is priced approximately at ₹;-₹; per kg (inclusive of GST), while carded yarn is noted at ₹;-₹; per kg.
In Delhi, the demand for cotton yarn has slowed down. The uncertainty in trade and shipping due to geopolitical issues is worrying garment exporters in the region. Sources indicate that traders and spinning mills are trying to maintain current cotton yarn prices. Rising cotton prices have also contributed to keeping yarn prices stable, yet demand from downstream industries remains weak.
In the Delhi market, the following prices have been observed: combed knitting yarn at ₹;-₹; per kg (GST extra) and other counts of combed and carded yarn at similar ranges.
Overall, the market is watching closely for shifts in demand as global situations evolve.
