Congress to Challenge Government Over Ayodhya Donation Scandal

NEW DELHI: The Congress party is preparing for continued disruptions in Parliament next week, focusing on the controversial Ayodhya donation scandal. Congress leaders have accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah of avoiding discussions on this critical issue.

Congress MP Pramod Tiwari stated that several key figures involved in the scandal are connected to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He specifically criticized the Prime Minister for allegedly protecting those at the highest levels of the temple trust, while minor officials are being targeted. Tiwari claimed that Modi is responsible for appointments within the trust.

He expressed concern that the government wants this issue to fade from public memory, even though it’s tied to the faith of millions of Indians. Tiwari called for a Supreme Court-monitored Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate, dismissing the SIT formed by the Uttar Pradesh government as ineffective.

“We demand accountability,” Tiwari said, emphasizing that the people of India deserve answers. He promised to take the matter to the public and continue raising the issue in the House on Monday until those responsible are held accountable.
