Forbes Urges Stronger Action Against Iran
Steve Forbes has emphasized the need for the United States to intensify efforts to dismantle the Iranian regime. He believes that ensuring free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz is crucial for American interests.
As the U.S. continues its military actions in Iran, pressure is mounting on its government. Forbes, speaking at Freedom Fest in Las Vegas, discussed the situation with Fox News Digital. He noted that America’s commitment to freedom on the seas dates back to Thomas Jefferson and has been a fundamental aspect of U.S. foreign policy for over two centuries.
“The Strait of Hormuz is an international waterway, just like the South China Sea. We must ensure it remains open for all commercial ships without tolls or restrictions,” Forbes stated.
He expressed confidence that with effective air strategy, ground troops might not be essential, but he did not rule out their use if necessary. Forbes drew a comparison with the Barbary Wars, which focused on securing freedom of navigation in the Mediterranean.
Forbes stressed that the U.S. military has maintained a naval presence in the Strait of Hormuz, even during ceasefires, stating, “We need to keep applying pressure on this regime. Our superior military forces should work with Israel’s to initiate change within Iran.”
He concluded by stating that freedom of navigation should be treated as an essential global principle, echoing sentiments that preserving liberty requires ongoing efforts.
In light of recent events, Forbes called for a decisive shift in U.S. policy toward Iran, urging the administration to eliminate any illusions of diplomatic solutions and to take stronger actions towards regime change.
