Upcoming Film Releases Delayed: Eetha and Prahaar Postponed
In recent news, the highly anticipated film Eetha, featuring Shraddha Kapoor, will not come out on its planned date of August 28. This period musical drama is produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, which was also set to release another movie titled Prahaar, starring Rajkummar Rao. Sources indicate that Prahaar will also be delayed.
Originally scheduled for August 7, Prahaar‘s release has been pushed back after discussions among the film’s producers. It seems they felt it wouldn’t be wise to launch the film at that time, especially since it would be close to the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day on July 30, and Batwara 1947 and Awarapan 2 on August 14. All of these films appear to be strong contenders at the box office.
A trade insider mentioned that the buzz around the postponement began to spread when it became clear that promotional activities for Prahaar were absent just two weeks before its scheduled release. Dinesh Vijan is known for his extensive promotion efforts, so this lack of visibility raised concerns.
As for when Prahaar will finally hit theaters, that remains uncertain. The film is based on the life of Ujjwal Nikam, a well-known public prosecutor. Rajkummar Rao leads the cast, which also includes Wamiqa Gabbi, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Sikandar Kher. The teaser for Prahaar was released alongside Cocktail 2 and received a positive response. The film particularly focuses on one of Nikam’s most famous cases—the trial of Ajmal Kasab, one of the terrorists involved in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
Fans will have to wait a bit longer for this movie, but the anticipation continues to grow.
