Dia Mirza Urges Prime Minister Modi to Address Student Concerns Amid Protests
Actress and environmental advocate Dia Mirza has publicly expressed her support for the students demonstrating at Jantar Mantar in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent remarks regarding ongoing protests over the alleged NEET paper leak.
A day after Prime Minister Modi shared a video message addressing the situation, Dia took to Instagram to share her discontent with his comments. Although the Prime Minister promised severe action against those involved in the alleged leak, he did not address critical issues at the heart of the protests, such as the injuries sustained by students during police action, the hunger strike led by activist Sonam Wangchuk, and families mourning their lost children.
In her heartfelt Instagram post, Dia stated, “There hasn’t been a single word of empathy for parents who have lost their children, for those who have died, or for the brave students fighting for their rights. It took 47 days for you to speak up, and when you did, your words brought no comfort to the millions of grieving hearts.”
Dia Mirza has been a strong voice in support of the peaceful protests, using her social media platforms to highlight the students’ concerns and push for accountability from those in authority. Her latest message also supports Sonam Wangchuk, whose hunger strike has become a focal point of the movement.
Throughout the protests, Dia has consistently shared updates and urged authorities to listen to the students’ demands, showing her commitment to fostering democratic values and open dialogue.
As the demonstrations persist, Dia remains one of the few notable celebrities actively engaging in discussions about the events at Jantar Mantar. Her ongoing advocacy for transparency and justice has sparked increased conversation online, resonating with many who are following the protests.
