Fifteen-Year-Old Shooter Missing in West Bengal: Police Launch Search
A 15-year-old national rifle shooter named Damayanti Sen has mysteriously gone missing from Howrah district in West Bengal. This alarming situation has led local police to begin a search operation and investigation.
Damayanti, who lives on Umacharan Bhattacharya Lane in central Howrah, left her home early on Friday morning to buy some items from a nearby store but did not return. Concerned when she failed to come back, her family reported her missing to the police after their own unsuccessful search.
Family members say she was last spotted at Howrah railway station. Her mobile phone was discovered at home, leaving investigators with few clues regarding her whereabouts after she left.
Her father, Dhruvajyoti Sen, mentioned that Damayanti was training hard for national team trials, demonstrating her commitment as an athlete. He described her as a focused individual who had kept to her usual routine, showing no signs of stress or issues before she disappeared.
“She trains every morning and had gone to bed early the night before, just as she usually does. There were no arguments or strange happenings at home before she left,” he stated, expressing hope for her safe return.
Her disappearance has raised alarm among family, friends, and fellow shooters, many of whom have been sharing her photo on social media, urging anyone with information to come forward.
A senior officer from the Howrah City Police informed the public that a case has been officially registered and multiple teams are actively looking for the teenager. “Following the missing person report, we have registered a case. Our teams are following up on leads and conducting inquiries wherever necessary,” the officer explained.
Police are also reviewing CCTV footage from around her home and Howrah railway station, and they are interviewing individuals who may have seen Damayanti before she went missing.
Authorities are encouraging anyone with information regarding Damayanti Sen to contact the nearest police station or reach out to Howrah City Police. The investigation is ongoing, with officers committed to finding the young shooter as soon as possible.
