Paknejad Meets Indian Counterpart at BRICS Energy Ministers’ Meeting

On Thursday, Paknejad engaged in discussions with his Indian counterpart during the 11th BRICS Energy Ministers’ Meeting in Gurugram, Haryana, India.

Both leaders emphasized the strong relationship and ongoing cooperation between their countries. India, for a long time, was one of the main buyers of Iranian crude oil. However, imports stopped in 2019 after the United States reinstated sanctions on Iranian oil exports.

The BRICS Energy Ministers’ Meeting, which took place on June 25–26, gathers 11 significant emerging economies and developing nations. The member countries include Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates.
