Texas Tech University Shines in Latest Rankings
Texas Tech University has made a notable leap in recent rankings, highlighting its strong commitment to education and research. According to the latest U.S. News & World Report, Texas Tech climbed six places to land at No. 562 globally, and it moved up to No. 123 among U.S. universities.
President Lawrence Schovanec expressed pride in the university’s achievements, stating, “This improvement reflects the hard work of our faculty, staff, and students, and demonstrates our dedication to academic excellence and innovative solutions for community challenges.”
In addition to its overall rise, Texas Tech saw impressive advancements in specific fields. The university’s ranking in electrical and electronic engineering soared 76 spots to No. 495, while its position in environment and ecology improved by 50 spots to No. 604. The social sciences also showed progress, with a jump of 19 places to No. 453.
Within Texas and the Big 12 Conference, Texas Tech continues to rank highly, surpassing other institutions such as Kansas State University and Oklahoma State University. Notably, the university secured a place in the top 50 for agricultural sciences (33), plant and animal science (41), and space science (48). Additionally, it ranked in the top 100 for subjects like psychiatry/psychology (90), physics (73), and chemistry (98).
The U.S. News & World Report rankings are determined using a variety of factors, including research reputation and international collaboration, in partnership with Clarivate, a leader in data and analytics.
