Miami Valley Bars Gear Up for World Cup Excitement
As the World Cup kicks off, local bars in Miami Valley are bracing for a wave of soccer fans. The atmosphere is buzzing with anticipation, and businesses are hopeful that the tournament will bring a much-needed boost.
At the Troll Pub at the Wheelhouse, the calm before the storm was evident. General manager Raychel Loney expressed how important events like the World Cup are for local bars. “With so many businesses closing lately, it’s crucial for us to attract customers and offer them something special,” she said. The bar is well-prepared, with its patio ready to seat 58 guests comfortably enjoying the warm summer evenings.
Not far away, The Pub at the Greene is also gearing up for a crowd. Service manager Samantha Johnson mentioned that they were anticipating a full house, especially as soccer continues to gain popularity. “Being a British pub, soccer is a big deal here. The excitement is definitely building,” she added, noting that many patrons already have ties to the UK.
Staff members at both pubs are diving into the spirit of the occasion. Armani, a server at The Pub at the Greene, shared the fun atmosphere that comes with dressing up for the event. “It’s always a blast to see everyone getting into character,” he said. The staff’s enthusiasm is infectious, adding to the excitement of the night.
Both bars are offering World Cup-themed specials, like soccer ball ice cubes at The Pub and giant mozzarella sticks at the Troll Pub. Managers at both locations are excited about the energy the World Cup brings and hope that a strong performance from Team USA will keep customers returning throughout the tournament.
