Legal Dispute Arises Over “Kala Hiran: Battle of Legacy”
A new legal situation has come to light concerning the film Kala Hiran: Battle of Legacy, as actor Salman Khan has taken action by approaching the Delhi High Court. He raises concerns about how his personal image and rights are being used in connection to the film.
Khan disputes that certain aspects of the film resemble him too closely, especially after the release of its first-look poster. On social media, many fans noticed that the character depicted in the poster shares similarities with Khan, particularly in regard to style, stance, and even a bracelet that fans associate with him.
Salman Khan’s legal team has filed objections, arguing that no film character should be based on him without permission. He is asking the court to protect his personality and publicity rights, which prevent unauthorized use of a public figure’s likeness or identity.
Reports indicate that the legal notice also mentions Khan’s past involvement in a controversial blackbuck case. His team argues that portraying this case in a film may negatively affect public opinion and could harm his reputation, particularly as the matter is still under legal review.
In his request, Khan is seeking to halt the film’s production, release, and promotion completely. This includes putting a stop to any advertising materials, such as posters and trailers, until the dispute is resolved.
On the other hand, producer Amit Jani responded to these claims through social media, asserting that the film is not specifically based on Salman Khan. He clarified that the story takes inspiration from the events surrounding the blackbuck case and the Bishnoi community rather than the actor.
Jani has also mentioned receiving threats from those claiming to support Khan, although there has been no official statement from Khan regarding this issue.
Directed by Bharat S. Shrinate and produced by Amit Jani under Firefox Media Private Limited, Kala Hiran: Battle of Legacy is now at the heart of a legal controversy that could significantly affect its future. Industry watchers are keenly attentive as the case is set to be discussed in the Delhi High Court.
