President Trump Confirms Apache Helicopter Downed by Iran

WASHINGTON: On Tuesday, President Donald Trump announced that Iran had shot down a US Apache helicopter while it was on patrol over the Strait of Hormuz. He emphasized that there would be a response from the United States but did not provide further specifics.

In a social media post, Trump stated, “I have just been informed by our Great Military that last night the Iranians shot down one of our highly sophisticated Apache helicopters while patrolling over the Strait of Hormuz.”

Earlier, the President reassured the public that the two pilots onboard the helicopter were safe following the incident. Speaking at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport before heading back to Washington, he said, “The pilots are fine. Nobody injured.”

This incident has raised tensions in the region, and all eyes will be on how the US administration decides to respond.
