Tragic Death of Software Engineer After Alleged Assault by In-Laws in Delhi

In a heartbreaking incident in Delhi’s Nihal Vihar, the mother of Vinay Gupta, a 31-year-old software engineer, has revealed chilling details about the attack that led to her son’s death. Vinay allegedly lost his life following an assault by his wife Rekha’s family.

Authorities reported that Vinay was brutally beaten on Friday, resulting in his death. Four individuals, including Rekha, have been taken into custody. Investigators noted that Rekha had turned off the CCTV camera inside their home before the attack.

Vinay, who lived in Laxmi Park, was a software engineer at a multinational company in Noida. He had been married to Rekha for about three and a half years, and the couple had recently welcomed twins, just four months old.

Mother Provides Disturbing Account of the Attack

In the aftermath of the incident, Vinay’s parents shared their heart-wrenching experience. His father, Prem Chand, recounted how Rekha’s relatives claimed they were merely there to talk. “I went inside to get water, and when I came out, they had already started attacking my son,” he said.

Vinay’s mother, Renu Gupta, described the brutal scene, stating, “My husband kept pleading with them to stop and talk nicely, but they didn’t listen. They pushed him to the ground and beat him mercilessly. They even shoved me aside.” She continued, detailing how the assailants pinned her son down and hit him in the stomach. “I just went to get them a glass of water. When I returned, they had him pinned down. They threw him onto the bed, grabbed him by the neck, and kept hitting him,” she told reporters.

Heartbroken, Renu shared that she tried to call for help from neighbors but was too late. “They had already finished my boy. He died on the way to the hospital. I had only one child,” she lamented.

Circumstances Leading to the Dispute

Police have revealed that the argument leading to the tragic event began after Vinay requested Rekha to apply medicine to their son, who had developed blisters. When she refused, the couple argued, causing Rekha to leave the house and call her two brothers along with a sister-in-law, escalating the situation further.

As a result of the incident, Rekha, along with her brothers Raju, Vedprakash, and sister-in-law Poonam, were arrested under charges related to murder and causing harm. Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage and gathering statements from neighbors and family to piece together the events that transpired. The investigation is ongoing, and the community mourns the loss of a young life cut short in such a tragic manner.
