CHANDIGARH: India Takes Charge in One-off Test Against Afghanistan

India has taken strong control in their one-off Test match against Afghanistan after ending their first innings at a remarkable 564 for 8. By the end of Day 2, Afghanistan struggled at 113 for 5, trailing by 451 runs.

The Indian side showcased exceptional batting, with captain Shubman Gill and KL Rahul each scoring centuries. Rishabh Pant also contributed significantly with his quick 81 runs, helping India cross the 500-run mark.

Once India declared their innings, their bowlers quickly put Afghanistan under pressure, dismissing half of their batting lineup before the day concluded. Debutant spinner Manav Suthar made a notable impact, playing a key role in breaking down the Afghan batting order on a pitch that increasingly favored bowlers.

With only five wickets remaining and needing to make up a big deficit, Afghanistan has a tough challenge ahead on Day 3 as India looks to secure a solid lead in the match.
