U.S. Judge Halts Trump’s Anti-Weaponization Fund
A federal judge in Washington, D.C. has temporarily stopped the Trump administration from launching a nearly $1.8 billion fund aimed at compensating victims of what Trump has described as the “weaponization” of government.
U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema issued the order on Friday, preventing any further action on the fund while she reviews additional legal arguments regarding its establishment.
This development comes after the Justice Department announced the creation of the “Anti-Weaponization Fund” last week as part of a settlement agreement concerning Trump’s legal battle with the Internal Revenue Service over the unauthorized release of his tax records.
The judge’s ruling marks a significant moment in the ongoing legal discussions surrounding the fund.
