HELSINGBORG: NATO leader Mark Rutte expressed his support on Friday for US President Donald Trump’s decision to deploy 5,000 troops to Poland. However, he emphasized that the focus is still on building a stronger Europe that relies less on the United States for its defense.
Rutte stated, “It’s important to be clear: we are moving towards a stronger Europe and a stronger NATO. Our goal is to gradually become less dependent on just one ally.” He shared these thoughts with reporters ahead of a NATO meeting taking place in Sweden’s Helsingborg.
