Emraan Hashmi is back in the spotlight after his vibrant cameo in *The Ba**ds Of Bollywood (2025), and fans can look forward to his role in the upcoming film Gunmaaster G9, where he stars alongside Genelia Deshmukh and Aparshakti Khurana. This project marks a reunion with director Aditya Datt after two decades. In a recent interview, producer Deepak Mukut shared insights about the film’s release plans.
Mukut revealed that they are aiming for a release during the Dussehra week on October 16. He mentioned that no other films are slated for release in the following three weeks, giving their movie an advantage. He also noted that they are considering an earlier release on October 9. While Drishyam 2 is set to debut on October 2, Mukut feels confident because Gunmaaster G9 caters to a different audience. “Our target audience is the youth, as well as those who enjoyed Emraan’s earlier work in the mid-2000s. Those fans are now in their 40s or 50s, but the film will also attract younger viewers,” he added.
Mukut emphasized the importance of a strategic release date, recalling a previous clash when his last film, The Bhootnii, competed against Raid 2. He explained that due to priority given to Raid 2, his film didn’t get enough screenings, resulting in a lower box office performance. “If I had received more shows, I believe my film could have done much better,” he lamented.
Currently, Mukut is preparing for a thrilling car chase scene in Mumbai for Gunmaaster G9, followed by a schedule in Uttarakhand and Delhi in June. He praised Emraan Hashmi and music composer Himesh Reshammiya for their contributions, and highlighted Genelia Deshmukh’s impressive performance, noting that Riteish Deshmukh applauded her role in the film.
Looking ahead, Mukut is also working on a highly anticipated sequel to Nayak (2001), starring Anil Kapoor. He mentioned that an announcement will be made soon. Additionally, he is developing Sanam Teri Kasam 2, citing the unexpected success of the first film upon its re-release as a significant factor in moving forward with the sequel.
