Diljit Dosanjh Addresses Recent Concert Controversy
Global star Diljit Dosanjh is in the spotlight once again, thanks to a political controversy that arose during his recent concert in Calgary as part of his Aura World Tour. Following reports of pro-Khalistani flags being waved in the crowd, Dosanjh took to social media to share his thoughts on the matter.
In a heartfelt message, the singer voiced his concerns about disruptions to his performance and the safety of his fans. He stated, “People are free to protest outside, but coming into my concert to disturb my audience is unacceptable. If someone waves a flag, it usually shows where they’re from and their support. However, harassing fans with the same banner is not something I will allow.”
Dosanjh clarified that his issue was not with the flags themselves but with the intentions behind them. He emphasized that it’s important to consider why such actions are taken. He asked security to remove anyone trying to cause trouble during the event, making it clear that he doesn’t support spreading false narratives about his stance.
The controversy kicked up after some spectators waved pro-Khalistani flags, prompting Dosanjh to pause the concert. He reminded the audience that while everyone is entitled to their beliefs, disrupting a concert is crossing a line.
He also pointed out the mixed messages he receives from different groups, noting that he’s been labeled a “Khalistani” in India yet dismissed as “India Wala” by extremists abroad. He reflected on the difficulties stemming from his October 2025 appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati, which led to backlash and boycott threats from some organizations.
Despite the ongoing scrutiny, Dosanjh remains committed to his primary goal: to entertain and promote Punjabi culture worldwide through his music.
