Cristiano Ronaldo Heartbroken as Al Hilal Spoils Al Nassr’s Title Dreams

Cristiano Ronaldo found himself lost in thought as Al Nassr squandered a golden opportunity for the Saudi Pro League title against their rivals Al Hilal on Tuesday. Just when it seemed that victory was within reach, Al Nassr conceded a last-minute equalizer, resulting in a frustrating 1-1 draw and prolonging Ronaldo’s wait for his first league title in Saudi Arabia.

Throughout much of the match at Alawwal Park, Al Nassr appeared to be in control. However, the end of the game brought chaos that turned their promising performance upside down.

What seemed like a harmless attack from Al Hilal quickly spiraled into trouble. A miscommunication between goalkeeper Bento and veteran defender Inigo Martinez led to a catastrophic mistake, allowing the ball to slip into their net.

After being substituted in the 83rd minute by manager Jorge Jesus, Ronaldo watched silently from the sidelines, his expression a mix of disbelief and frustration. At one point, he even cracked a brief smile, struggling to comprehend how the team had let such a crucial moment slip away.

### HOW AL NASSR MISSED THEIR TITLE OPPORTUNITY

The derby was nerve-wracking from the start. With both teams feeling the pressure of the title race, clear chances were scarce for most of the match. However, Al Nassr eventually took charge and struck first with a fantastic goal from Mohamed Simakan in the first half.

Once that goal was scored, it felt as if Al Nassr had the game in their grasp. Al Hilal struggled to create effective chances, while Al Nassr managed the game well, opting to play it safe.

A key moment came just before half-time when Kingsley Coman intercepted a misplaced pass from Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. With an open goal in front of him, the crowd expected a second goal, but Coman hit the woodwork instead—a miss that would haunt them later.

In the final moments, Al Nassr made a defensive blunder that could haunt them in the title race. A simple high ball into the box turned into chaos as Bento and Martinez hesitated, colliding instead of clearing the ball. The result was a painful own goal that stunned everyone watching.

For Ronaldo and Al Nassr, this was the last way they wanted to lose control of a crucial moment.

### WHAT’S NEXT FOR AL NASSR?

Although Ronaldo’s pursuit of his first Saudi league title continues, Al Nassr has made things much tougher for themselves with this draw. They still sit atop the Saudi Pro League table with 83 points and need just one more win in their final game to claim the title.

This remains a silver lining for them, but the pressure is back on. Al Hilal, now with 78 points and two games left to play against Neom and Al Fayha, are firmly in contention. If Al Nassr fails to win their last match and Al Hilal wins both of theirs, the title could slip away dramatically.

In the coming days, all eyes will be on these crucial matches as the title race heats up.
