Punjab Kings Bowler Arshdeep Singh’s Social Media Activity Under Review

Punjab Kings fast bowler Arshdeep Singh is facing scrutiny due to his social media posts, particularly on Instagram. This comes after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) issued new guidelines for everyone involved in the Indian Premier League.

The BCCI’s advisory outlines important do’s and don’ts for players, coaches, managers, and team officials. The guidelines cover various topics, including interactions with guests, access to team hotels, smoking regulations, showing accreditation cards, and following anti-corruption rules.

While the complete advisory hasn’t been made public, it’s clear that the BCCI is serious about these new measures. A report from Cricbuzz mentions that each team manager has been asked to hold a meeting with their players within 48 hours of receiving the guidelines. The Punjab Kings are expected to convene this meeting on Saturday evening.

Will Arshdeep Stop Creating Content?

Arshdeep Singh is known for his vibrant presence on Instagram, boasting over six million followers and regularly sharing engaging content. However, reports suggest that this has caught the attention of the BCCI’s management. Moving forward, it seems that videos will only be shared through the official franchise accounts.

The Punjab Kings plan to meet with their players, including Arshdeep, after their practice session on Saturday at the HPCA Stadium to ensure everyone understands and agrees to the new rules.

This season, broadcasts and social media clips have shown players socializing with friends and non-team members, which the BCCI believes may compromise anti-corruption and security measures. Additionally, the board has expressed concerns about how casually some franchises have approached access regulations during travel and hotel stays.

As these new guidelines take effect, it remains to be seen how players like Arshdeep will adapt to ensure compliance.
