Sanjay Dutt’s Aakhri Sawal Secures CBFC Nod; Set for May 15 Premiere!

The team behind the film Aakhri Sawal, starring Sanjay Dutt, has announced its new release date after overcoming delays with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The movie is now set to hit theaters on May 15, 2026. Along with this update, the team also released a fresh poster featuring the main cast and revealed that the highly anticipated trailer will be released tomorrow.

This film has been creating buzz ever since its initial announcement, especially after a teaser hinted at themes related to politically sensitive issues connected to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. The teaser sparked a lot of online discussions due to its serious tone and historical references.

However, the film faced some challenges during the CBFC review process, which caused uncertainty regarding its release and promotional activities. This delay halted plans for launching the trailer while the production team awaited the necessary clearance.

With the certification now secured, the promotional efforts have resumed. The makers posted on social media, “Tomorrow, the nation will witness the truth. The wait is over — the most awaited trailer drops tomorrow. #AakhriSawal Trailer out tomorrow. Get ready to know the answer on 15th May only in cinemas.”

In addition to Sanjay Dutt, the cast includes Namashi Chakraborty, Tridha Choudhury, Amit Sadh, Neetu Chandra, and Sameera Reddy. The film is directed by National Award winner Abhijeet Mohan Warang and written by Utkarsh Naithani, who crafted the story, screenplay, and dialogues.

Produced by Nikhil Nanda and Sanjay Dutt, with co-producers including Puneet Nanda, Dr. Deepak Singh, Gaurav Dubey, and Ujjwal Anand, Aakhri Sawal will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, aiming for a broad audience across India.

With the CBFC hurdle now behind and the trailer launch on the horizon, the promotional activities for the film are expected to ramp up leading up to its May 15 release.
