Satadru Dutta Responds to TMC After Election Loss
Satadru Dutta, the promoter behind Lionel Messi’s much-talked-about “GOAT tour,” has voiced his frustrations following the Trinamool Congress’s (TMC) defeat in the West Bengal elections. Dutta, who spent 37 days in jail after a chaotic event at the Salt Lake Stadium, is now considering legal action against the party, claiming damages of ₹100 crore.
In a series of social media posts, Dutta accused the TMC of ruining his three years of hard work and damaging his reputation after the chaotic event at the stadium. He vowed to take the party to court and fight until the end. “Just because you lost the elections doesn’t mean you’re off the hook. I will file a defamation suit and take it to the Supreme Court if I need to,” he asserted.
Dutta also criticized former Bengal sports minister Aroop Biswas, alleging that his presence and that of his associates angered Messi. Dutta explained that their attempts to take pictures with the football star led to a chaotic atmosphere, resulting in vandalism within the stadium and cutting Messi’s visit short.
“I repeatedly asked him not to take pictures, but he ignored me and abused his position. He will have to face the consequences,” Dutta stated.
Following the incident, Dutta was jailed as police launched inquiries into the events that unfolded. In related news, former Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwary, who recently left the TMC, also criticized Biswas for his handling of sports in the state. Tiwary claimed that Biswas lacked understanding of sports management, hindering the state’s sports development during his time in office.
The TMC, after a long-standing rule of 15 years, has now been displaced by the BJP, which won a historic 207 seats in the recent elections.
