New Developments in the ‘Dhurandhar The Revenge’ Controversy

The situation surrounding the film Dhurandhar The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh, has taken a significant turn. Filmmaker Santosh Kumar RS has agreed to stop making public statements about director Aditya Dhar.

Recent reports indicate that this issue was addressed in the Bombay High Court. Santosh Kumar’s lawyer informed the court that the director will no longer speak about the ongoing dispute publicly. Instead, he plans to pursue legitimate legal channels to voice his concerns. It was mentioned that previous comments were not directed specifically at Aditya Dhar. The court acknowledged the effort but cautioned that enforcing such a commitment could be complex. However, they have officially noted Kumar’s intent to refrain from any further potentially harmful statements.

On the other hand, Aditya Dhar’s legal team has requested a public apology regarding the earlier claims. His lawyer argued that making serious accusations can significantly impact reputations and suggested an apology would be fitting. Santosh Kumar’s team, however, disagreed, expressing confidence in the legitimacy of his claims and choosing not to apologize at this point.

The court consequently decided to wrap up the interim request, instructing Kumar to avoid making any contentious comments in the future.

This controversy originated from claims made by Kumar, who asserts that Dhurandhar is based on a script he previously registered titled D Saheb. Following these allegations, Aditya Dhar issued a legal notice demanding a retraction. With no response, he approached the court, stating that the claims were baseless and harming his professional image.

Earlier this month, the court had already directed Kumar to avoid repeating such assertions publicly until future hearings take place.

Despite the ongoing disputes, Dhurandhar The Revenge has been performing well at the box office, continuing to attract audience interest and sparking discussions about the film.
