Ranveer Singh’s Film Pralay Set to Begin Production

Ranveer Singh’s upcoming film, Pralay, is creating quite a buzz as new updates confirm that the project is still on track, despite earlier concerns about potential delays. Filming is expected to kick off in August 2026.

The actor, fresh off his success with the Dhurandhar franchise, is collaborating with director Jai Mehta on this highly anticipated zombie thriller. There were recent reports of creative disagreements between Singh and Mehta, but a source familiar with the film has dismissed these claims.

According to an insider, “The rumors about uncertainty surrounding Pralay are completely false. Ranveer and Jai have been in ongoing conversations and have finalized the script. The project is currently in pre-production, with the team excitedly preparing to create a remarkable cinematic experience. Pralay is set to begin shooting in August 2026.”

As it stands, the film has entered a crucial stage of pre-production, which typically involves scouting locations, designing concepts, planning action sequences, preparing special effects, and finalizing the cast.

Pralay promises to be an epic, post-apocalyptic action thriller set in a world overrun by zombies. This genre is not often explored at such a scale in Hindi cinema, making it an exciting venture. While international audiences have seen many successful zombie films, Bollywood has yet to fully dive into this realm.

Director Jai Mehta, who has made a name for himself in the web series space, has reportedly been working on this project since last year. The screenplay is co-written by Mehta and Vishal Kapoor, known for his work on Lootere.

The film is backed by Hansal Mehta’s True Story Films and Ranveer Singh’s Maa Kasam Films, along with Applause Entertainment. With a significant budget estimated at around ₹300 crores, Pralay is poised to be one of the costliest productions in Bollywood.

Ranveer Singh is particularly eager to explore this new genre and is expected to present a unique look in the film. While no additional projects have been officially announced, there are whispers of another collaboration with Aditya Dhar.

As pre-production progresses and the filming start date approaches, Pralay is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious films of Ranveer Singh’s career.
